curious church in mid-city...
this is part of a 16 sq block chunk of land where a project to renovate the florida drainage canal housing projects in to a mixed income development was temporailly blown out by the great flood. 2 years later its a weird mix of streets of abandoned constrcution and finished units sitting empty with the lights on. a fence surrounds most of it seperating the entire neighbourhood from the outside world and theres weird lone cars cruising arround in there. one of the best new destinations for our drink-and-climbs
club desire is one part of a little enclave of beautiful decays bars and jazz clubs right on the edge on 9ward. i've always admired the building in this area but never thought to explor club desire until the revelers of discordia had a gurilla party occupation of it last month for pirate bike ride.
club desire features a rooming house along the back wall and in one room we found a bunch of AA stuff.
can you imaging being in AA recovery and living in a bar ??
